At Civil Systems our water engineering practice is based on systems engineering principle. Our services emphasize optimized engineering solutions using advanced optimization methodology, GIS technology, and modern software applications.  Our engineering staff is very well trained and experienced in applying optimization techniques such as linear programming (LP), nonlinear programming (NLP), dynamic programming (DP), and inter programming (IP) to various types of projects, such as reservoir/river systems planning and operations, stormwater drainage systems evaluation, planning, and design. Our engineering staff has extensive experience in applying modern hydrologic and hydraulic modeling techniques, such as HEC-1, HEC-2, Arc Hydro, GeoHMS, HEC-HMS, GeoRAS, HEC-RAS, EPA-SWMM, and WinStorm.  We routinely use these modeling techniques to floodplain studies, flood control planning and design, bridge/culvert analysis and design, and urban stormwater drainage systems planning and design.  Our engineering staff brings extensive experience in using Corps of Engineers' Flood Damage Analysis (FDA) in flood control systems evaluation and planning.
